The Concord SpEd PAC website has a terrific section on “Testing and Evaluating” students. The “Types of Testing” section lists many of the different types of educational tests used to evaluate children with special needs. It describes each test including subtests, identifies how long the test takes to administer, what age range it is appropriate for and what skill set the test is evaluating. If you’re looking to try to identify certain tests to evaluate a suspected area of need or trying to better understand tests a school or private evaluator has proposed/administered, this is a very comprehensive reference resource.
