  • Bullying Prevention Guide – From the Governor’s Task Force on Hate Crimes, the Massachusetts Commission on Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Youth, and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
  • Bullying Prevention and Intervention – MA DOE Technical Assistance Advisory SPED 2011-2: dated Febuaray 11, 2011 – Requires school leaders to create and implement strategies to prevent bullying, and to address bullying and retaliation promptly and effectively if they occur. The law has specific implications for the IEP process and for students with disabilities.
  • Bullying and Harassment – This is a Wrightslaw newsletter on bullying and harassment of students with associated free publications and resources.
  • Protecting Students from Harassment and Hate Crimes – This Guide provides step-by-step guidance about how to protect students from harassment and violence. This is a joint publication of the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Civil Rights and National Association of Attorneys General.
  • Schoolwide Prevention of Bullying – published by the Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory. This booklet provides an overview of what is known about bullying behavior, describes successful efforts to address it, profiles anti-bullying programs and offers resources.
  • Understanding Bullying and its Impact on Kids with Learning Disabiltities or ADHD – This is a very clear, concise article by Marlene Snyder, Ph.D. from the Great Schools website. It defines bullying and clarifies the difference between normal conflict and bullying.
  • Massachusetts Bullying and Cyberbullying Prevention – Robin D’Antona, Ed.D., offers a description of multiple bullying prevention programs and resources for parents.
  • Stop Bullying Now – This website offers practical, research based strategies for reducing bullying in schools. It has links to a number of articles on bullying and offers a variety of resources for families.
  • The Massachusetts Aggression Reduction Center – This website offers resources for families and educators on bullying and cyberbullying research and programs.
  • Pacer’s National Bullying Prevention Center – This website offers many resources for families and children/teens. It has recent articles about bullying in the news, informational handouts, educational activities, sites for teens and kids and a variety of videos.
